Question Of The Week

Question for September 2008

A Question At the Beginning of the Music Year...

QUESTION:

Some of you are returning students to Judy's House of Music. You will be accustomed to the style of teaching that your teacher has. Others are new students. Please remember that it will take some time to get to know your teacher, and for her to get to know you, your family, your habits and the way you do and learn things.

However, please remember that your teacher has more than 30 years of experience in teaching piano, accordian and theory. While she is always searching for new ideas for teaching, she also has reasons for what she asks her students to accomplish. Please, give these ideas a try. As long as you are trying, she will be thrilled with whatever you are able to do.

What is the biggest, hardest thing my teacher will require of me during this year of music lessons? (Clue: It is also the easiest thing -- how amazing!) There may be more than one 'correct' answer, so try to choose what you think is the BEST answer.
a)
to memorize every piece that is assigned to me every week.
b)

to try new ideas and to do my best with carrying them out.

c)
to ignore all new advice and carry on just the way I have been all last year.
d)
to stay positive and always believe in my ability to do new things.
